TWO WITNESSES
Jewish law found in the Torah (Pentateuch) – the first 5 books of the bible.
Rev 11: 1-3
v1 - And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the
temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
v2 - But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the
Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
v3 - And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and
threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
1,260 days, 42 months, Time, Times and ½ Times
Rev 12: 6, 14
v6 - And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they
should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
v14 - And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the
face of the serpent.
Rev 13:5
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was
given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most
High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and
times and the dividing of time.
II Cor 13:1
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be
established.
Num 35: 30, 31
v30 - Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one
witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.
v31 - Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall
be surely put to death.
Deut 19: 15-21
v15 - One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth:
at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
v16 - If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
v17 - Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests
and the judges, which shall be in those days;
v18 - And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath
testified falsely against his brother;
v19 - Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil
away from among you.
v20 - And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil
among you.
v21 - And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot
for foot.
John 8:13-18
v13 - The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
v14 - Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know
whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
v15 - Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
v16 - And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
v17 - It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
v18 - I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
Heb 10:23-33
v23 - Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
v24 - And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
v25 - Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one
another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
v26 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins,
v27 - But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the
adversaries.
v28 - He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
v29 - Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot
the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing,
and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
v30 - For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.
And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
v31 - It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
v32 - But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great
fight of afflictions;
v33 - Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye
became companions of them that were so used.
I Tim 5:17-22
v17 - Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the
word and doctrine.
v18 - For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is
worthy of his reward.
v19 - Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
v20 - Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
v21 - I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these
things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
v22 - Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.
Matt 18:15-22
v15 - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him
alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
v16 - But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three
witnesses every word may be established.
v17 - And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let
him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
v18 - Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye
shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
v19 - Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask,
it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
v20 - For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
v21 - Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?
till seven times?
v22 - Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Who are the Two Witnesses?
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Quoted from:
Zech 4:1-5
v1 - And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of
his sleep,
v2 - And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of
gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven
lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
v3 - And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side
thereof.
v4 - So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
v5 - Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these
be? And I said, No, my lord.
Zech 4: 10 -14
v10 - For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the
plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to
and fro through the whole earth.
v12 - Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the
candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
v13 - And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through
the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
v14 - And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
v15 - Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
Rev 1: 5-6
v5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the
prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
v6 - And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for
ever and ever. Amen.
Rev 5:9-10
v9 - And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals
thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and
tongue, and people, and nation;
v10 - And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
I Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
Priest offer acceptable sacrifice:
Rom 12: 1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Kings declare righteous judgment:
John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Christ (the King) in you:
Col 1:27
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the
